With a mind-set that nothing is impossible, students from Marine Student Boot Camp presented business models for a sustainable seafood future.

Bilde1 SeaCu was announced by the Minster of Fisheries as the winner of Marine Student Bootcamp, at the Sustainable Growth Summit. The business model was based on utilization of sea cucumber, hence the name "SeaCu". The sustainable business idea was to farm sea cucumbers under fish farms, and utilize nutrient waste to improve enviromenental conditions on site. Market opportunities was presented with great potential to be sold as fresh, dried or whole, as a highly nutritous products with high content of vitamins and minerals for human health.

The jury’s remarks to SeaCU:

– They used a commodity that has a huge potensial market 

– They exploit marine ressources

– Utilize waste from the fish farms

– Norway has long tradions within dehydrated seafood

– This business model can be developed and implemented quickly
