More than 60 young leaders from the seafood sector joined our second NASF Young Leadership Summit

PicMonkey Collage Young Leadership Summit is a network for young professional leaders working in the seafood industry or related industries where the need for sustainable innovation is increasingly important to create growth and succeed in a highly competitive environment.

Young Leadership Summit was hosted by the world’s largest seafood business conference, North Atlantic Seafood Forum, and the Norwegian Centres of Expertise, Seafood Innovation Cluster.

Nominated Young Global Leaders
Only the very best candidates were selected and all efforts were extended to create a truly representative and influential community. Reflecting the diversity of stakeholders, Young Leadership’s aim is to include leaders from politics, business, and academia across geographic regions.

The attendaces were exceptional young leaders under the age of 40 working within business or R&D. The candidates have a recognized record of extraordinary achievement and a proven track record of substantial leadership experience. To be admitted participants needed at least five years of work experience, be a young leader or a talented professional with leadership aspirations.

Interesting speakers
On the summit we had inspiring key speakers with different experience and knowledge that they shared with the young audience. The session started with Professor Linda Nøstbakken from NHH with "Leadership and Innovation for a Global Seafood Industry" followed by a conversation between Linda Nøstbakken and Arne Møgster. The young leaders found it very interesting listen to Arne’s experiences with being the young CEO in a large family-owned company.

Katrine Trovik, Head of Division, DNB has lived several years in South-America and gave the young leaders many good advices on how to take chances when they present themselves. Cilia Holmes Indahl, Director Sustainability, Aker BioMarine, gave an inspiring speach about how be sustainble and profitable at the same time.

Workshop
We concluded the meeting with a workshop, where the young leaders was encouraged to discuss some challenges the seafood sector faces due to communication, and they came up with a lot of interesting and new ideas to bring forward.

We want to thank all speakers and participant for sharing this afternoon with us. This was an important step in the process of developing a global community of the most talented young professionals in the global seafood sector. The Young Leadership event is an important part of shaping the future sustainability agenda for the Norwegian Seafood Innovation Cluster and the global seafood sector. IMG_6010
