In 2018 the Cluster partnered up with HATCH, The World’s First Aquaculture Accelerator. This week HATCH is back in Bergen to learn from the most important players in the seafood industry. Connecting the startups participating in HATCH with the most important players in aquaculture, both in Norway and internationally is one of the key roles of the program.

This week the HATCH Blue and the Cork 2018 cohort is having meetings and discussions with our partners the whole week.

The week started at Cargill, the main sponsor for the program, and the team got insightful presentation from Terje Utne, Aqua Health Technology Specialist in Cargill Aqua Nutrition. Further the team has met Grieg Seafood and heard Trond Kathenes’ passion for technology and fish farming before they met Krister Hoaas at Lerøy Seafood and got insight in their work with innovations and development and got a taste of their delicious sushi.

Several companies are still to be visited, before the Industry week is finalized with a more social event. If you want to meet the HATCH before they leave Norway, please come and join them for “Fish Friday” at Dark&Stormy bar. Fish Friday is a series of aquaculture events where the aquaculture, seafood and fishery industry can meet and chat with like-minded people.
