6th graders from Bjørnaforden wins the SMARTere Teknologi challenge, by creating a mini a breeding facility that runs on solar and wave power, as a solution to the case provided by Bolaks.
Senter for bærekraft ig havbruksinnovasjoner (CSAI) er en konsolidering av forskningsgrupper ved Uni Research Environment og Institutt for Biologi ved Universitetet i Bergen. Senteret vil være en viktig innovasjonsplattform for å støtte bærekraft ig akvakultur. Gjennom tverrfaglig forskning bygges det bro for å møte fremtidens krav til matproduksjon fra havet og flerkulturelle løsninger. Senteret skal også støtte viktige forskningsbaserte utdanningsprogrammer som eksempelvis det nye integrerte Master/ Sivilingeniør-programmet. Senteret vil videre støtte klyngen i nasjonale og internasjonale FoU-initiativer.
Joining the cluster in May, has been of great joy to me. My first steps into the industry has exceed my expectation and has been of great personal inspiration. In my view, our Cluster has a good foundation to reach our goal and joint vision to: contribute to sustainable growth in the seafood industry. And I look forward to work towards this with our competent partners and members.
Together with academic and industry Cluster partners, we have delivered an outline for a new SFI centre focusing on digitalization of fish behaviour and advanced sensorics.
In September the Cluster kicked-off the second Seafood Trainee program. Almost 400 applied for the Seafood Trainee program, where only 25 talents ended up with a position as Seafood Trainee. While the first module took place in Bergen, the second module took place in Trondheim and Frøya, focusing on technology in the seafood value chain. Technology & Innovation was the throughout topic in the second module.
Together with the University of Bergen, by adjunct associate professor Tom Ole Nilsen and partners in North America, we have been granted funding from the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation and Education, SIU.
The Centre for Sustainable Aquaculture Innovations (CSAI) is a consolidation of research groups at Uni Research Environment and Department of Biology at the University of Bergen. The joint SFI CtrlAQUA integrating basic and applied research is a major foundation for CSAI. NCE Seafood Innovation Cluster has supported the establishment of CSAI.
September 14th was the official kick-off for the first Seafood Trainee program. Almost 400 applied for the Seafood Trainee program, where only 24 talents ended up with a position as Seafood Trainee. While the first module took place in Bergen, the upcoming modules will take place in Trondheim, Brussels and Paris. Our 24 talents are representing Lerøy, Marine Harvest, Grieg Seafood, EWOS Cargill, MSD Animal Health Norway, DNB and Norwegian Seafood Council.
