SMARTere teknologi for pupils at elementary school

Six graders can also solve problems for the seafood industry! Together with Ungt Entreprenørskap Vestland we are arranging innovation camps across the county. Over 1300 pupils will solve seafood related issues through “SMARTere teknologi”.

Background

The seafood industry has a big potential to meet the increasing need for food production to feed a growing population, and according to Vestlandsmeldinga 2021 this county contributes to over 40 % of the value creation within marine sector I Norway.

Despite the possibilities in the industry, it is a significant need for competent work force and young, new-thinking innovators who can contribute to the industry’s future sustainable growth and development.

Project goals

The aim is to secure talent attraction to the seafood industry, as well as stimulate the six grader’s entrepreneurship, creativity and knowledge. This will contribute to ensuring preconditions for sustainable growth and development to Vestlandet.

We have engaged seafood companies into making a problem for the pupils to solve. Bremnes Seashore, Lerøy Seafood and Bolaks are participating this year and they have focused their issues on sludge, sustainability and climate emissions.

About “SMARTere teknologi”

SMARTere teknologi is a teaching program for six graders where technology is at the centre. The pupils are given a real problem from local businesses, and they will have to use their creativity and knowledge to solve it. Read more about it here.

Progress

The project will be carried out during February and March 2023.
