One Ocean Week – climate change and the aquatic environment
NIVA shines a spotlight on how climate change affects the aquatic environment and what consequences this has for the Norwegian aquaculture industry.
The event will address changes in water chemistry, ecology and marine organisms – from freshwater sources to coastal areas – and what this means for future preparedness. Three researchers will provide a comprehensive picture of how increased precipitation, extreme weather, algae blooms and jellyfish can challenge both water quality and operations. The goal is to provide participants with updated insights and concrete perspectives on what measures are needed to ensure robust aquatic environments in a rapidly changing climate.
