25 young graduates. 12 months in the seafood industry. 4 gatherings with knowledge, development and networking.

We recently concluded the last gathering for Seafood Trainee batch 9 – this time in Scotland, where we got an international look at the seafood industry.

After one year in the program, most have been offered a permanent job in the company they have been a trainee at, and bring with them both experience and expertise that the industry is in great need of.

Throughout the year, we have visited everything from research environments and fish farming facilities to export companies and marketing organizations.

In Scotland we gained insight into how Scottish Sea Farms work, discussed marketing with Seafood Scotland , and got new perspectives from Salmon Scotland . In addition, we had a full day where we saw algae production with the Scottish Association For Marine Science , and visited JK Thomson 's processing plant for all fish for sale! 🐟 🐟

At the same time, we got to experience bagpipes, ceilidh dancing and perhaps the best fish and chips in the world.

🐟 We work to ensure that Seafood Trainee is as good an opportunity for the company as it is for the trainee 🐟

Through the program, companies receive a newly qualified full-time employee for one year, combined with professional gatherings with a strong professional program, follow-up and networking.

This gives the trainee a strong start while the companies gain new expertise and fresh perspectives right into everyday life.

A big thank you to everyone in cohort 9 – and to the companies and mentors who have been part of the journey! It's great to see so many staying in this exciting industry. We look forward to following you in the future!
