The partners Blue70, Acapo, Annerledeslandet, Nagelld and Artgarden also contribute to the prize with, among other things, consultancy in the areas of patents, design, strategy and networks. Blue Lice won this year's award. They were voted for by the jury and the public based on their work with solutions that combat salmon lice.
Voted by a jury and the public
The jury, consisting of Maria Bøthun Hanedalen from DNB, Sander Lie from Pareto, Rolf Mork-Knudsen from Annerledeslandet and Solveig Holm and Trude Jansen Hagland from NCE Seafood, assessed the companies based on four criteria: environmental impact, business idea, team and growth potential.
– The winner was voted on by the audience and the jury, says Trude Jansen Hagland from NCE Seafood on behalf of the jury.
The jury further states:
- The winner addresses a huge cost, welfare and reputation problem for the industry. Blue LICE started in 2017, and since then has faced resistance and gotten back on its feet several times. This is a winner who has had great faith in their innovation, and who has never considered giving up. They are now bigger and stronger than ever. This is a worthy winner with enormous growth potential that we look forward to following further in the future, says Hagland

The Seafood Innovation Award was established to facilitate sustainable development and innovation in the seafood industry, and it is also intended to stimulate entrepreneurship and recognize innovation in new companies. This year, companies from the Entrepreneur's Christmas Gift have also joined as partners.
The award is presented in connection with the three-day North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF), the world's largest seafood conference for senior executives.
The eleven nominated companies presented themselves and their work on Tuesday and the award was presented today. The criteria for being nominated as startups for the award were that they had developed a product or service and were seeking potential customers, partners and/or investors.
