Engagement at the Partner and member meeting on December 5th 💙

On December 5th, we at NCE Seafood invited our partners and members to this year's Partner and Member Meeting at Lanternen, Marineholmen. The afternoon became an arena for reflection, inspiration and collaboration together.

A look back at the year

The meeting started with a look back at the past year. This year we have been working on projects and partnerships, while at the same time working to strengthen both innovation and sustainability in the seafood industry. A key part of this work has been our focus on talent attraction, which was highlighted in the presentation of our latest Industry Insight: Talent Attraction . The report highlights how we can win the battle for future talent – a crucial topic for the entire industry.

Innovation stories that inspire

Two of our talented members shared exciting innovation stories that clearly demonstrate what collaboration can accomplish:

  • Vidar Ugland from Solution Seeker shared their journey – from startup to today's position as a player in data-driven innovation.
  • Hans Kleivdal from NORCE presented the new AquaPhoenix project , which aims to develop environmentally friendly sludge collection in the Hardangerfjord and increased circularity in the value chain.

Panel discussion on the talents of the future

One of the highlights of the agenda was an engaging panel discussion on how we can successfully engage students directly and ensure that the seafood industry appears as an attractive career path. Many thanks to the panelists who shared valuable perspectives:

🔹 Steffen Juranek from NHH
🔹 Øyvind Fiksen from UiB
🔹 Tallak Liavåg Rundholt from HVL
🔹 Synnøve Austestad from Bolaks

This conversation gave us concrete ideas for how academia and business can work more closely together to build a stronger and more competent industry.

Looking to the future

We ended the day by looking ahead – focusing on opportunities, challenges and what we as a cluster can achieve together. We would like to thank everyone who attended the meeting, shared insights and contributed with commitment. We are already looking forward to our collaboration in 2025!
