-Iceland and Norway are both strong seafood nations with long traditions of cooperation. With this cooperation agreement, we want to strengthen our efforts on innovation and entrepreneurship. Iceland Ocean Cluster and our seafood cluster have a lot in common. Both clusters have a strong focus on sustainable exploitation of marine resources, says Tanja Hoel, CEO of NCE Seafood.

Our R&D manager, Björgólfur Hávarðsson will be visiting Iceland Ocean Cluster in June. The goal is to identify possible collaboration projects between Icelandic partners and ours, continues Hoel. In September, “The World Seafood Congress“ will be held in Iceland where NCE Seafood has been invited to be a key-note speaker. -We are discussing with the other ocean clusters about arranging a joint study tour to explore areas where Iceland and Norway can contribute to innovative technology development for increased value creation from the ocean-continues Hoel.
