This year, NCE Seafood has organized the Seafood Innovation Award 2025 in collaboration with DNB, Pareto, Invest in Bergen, Acapo, Nordic USV, Annerledeslandet, NagellD and Artgarden.
– The winner was voted on by the audience and the jury, says Trude Jansen Hagland from NCE Seafood on behalf of the jury.

Seven companies compete for innovation prize
Both the jury and the audience were unanimous about the winner – the Icelandic company GreenFish.
The jury's reasoning

The jury explained the choice by saying that the winner not only solves critical challenges in the industry, but also represents a scalable and future-oriented solution with significant growth potential. By combining artificial intelligence, big data and satellites, GreenFish can predict fishing locations with up to 8-day forecasts, thereby reducing large amounts of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
– The company is a worthy winner with enormous growth potential that we look forward to following in the future, says Hagland
– Will continue to push the boundaries
In addition to a cash prize, the winner will receive tailored entrepreneurial support in key areas such as strategy, marketing and business development. This is something Sveinn Sigurdur Johannesson, one of the company's founders, is very pleased with:
– It is a great honor for us to receive the Seafood Innovation Award for 2025. At GreenFish, we will continue to push the boundaries of innovation within the blue economy.
