Say hello to our new Trainee, but not entirely new colleague Synnøve!

Who is our new Trainee?

– My name is Synnøve Alise Furnes, I am 25 years old and was born and raised in beautiful Bergen, a true Bergen resident, in other words! This spring I completed a master's degree in Innovation and Management at the University College of Western Norway, and before that I took a bachelor's degree in digital communication and marketing at BI.

What is your role at NCE Seafood, and why did you become a trainee?

– I am responsible for communication at NCE Seafood – everything from social media such as LinkedIn, to the website, newsletter, graphic design and video. I am also involved in planning and coordinating events, and coordinating our competency programs, such as Seafood Digital. I started as an intern 1.5 years ago, and after that I have worked part-time alongside my studies. Now I have become a trainee – and I could not say no to that, as it is simply the perfect opportunity!

What are you most looking forward to as a trainee, and what have you done so far?

– I'm looking forward to being here 100% and getting even more involved in the team. It's one thing to come by as an intern and part-time employee, but it's a completely different experience when you're here full-time. And of course I'm looking forward to all the trainee meetings! It will be exciting to get professional input, but also really fun to get to know the 23 other trainees in the program.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

– Positive, efficient and not too self-important. I like to get things done, but I can be a bit hasty and cheerful along the way… But you know what they say: The perfectionist is the worst enemy of efficiency! Or at least that's what Petter Stordalen says and I trust him!

If you had one extra hour every day, what would you use it for?

– Good question! I would probably use it to do yoga or ski – my top favorite activities. When I’m not doing that, I’m a huge fan of wine. I love to nerd out on wine, especially sparkling wines! While it might not be the best idea to drink wine for an extra hour every day, I have to admit I could be tempted… Hahaha!
