The Innovation Park at Bergen Technology Transfer hosted the meeting, and the topic was input for the Government's entrepreneurial initiative. The cluster's message was more innovation in the Maritime Industries. The seafood industry is completely dependent on the Government facilitating good incentive schemes that can increase the innovative power and level of the sector.

The cluster called for clear goals with the Government's innovation and entrepreneurship initiative that contribute to both establishing new businesses while moving the aquaculture industry forward in a sustainable direction. Interaction between new and established companies is very important.

Other measures that were highlighted to great acclaim by the entrepreneurs were tax measures that could make it more attractive for investors to invest in start-ups. "Norway is the only country in Europe that does not have such tax incentives aimed at start-ups. In addition, we have a wealth tax that affects companies that have a positive market value but not a positive cash flow. So in practice we are taxing innovation instead of stimulating innovation," says board member Torger Reve, professor at BI Norwegian School of Business.

The input was well received by the Prime Minister in front of a receptive audience.
