The seafood industry is a key future industry for Norway, and is already our second largest export industry with a total export value of over 150 billion in 2022. The industry is at an exciting intersection between biology and technology, with enormous development opportunities in the years ahead, both locally and globally.
To continue the development of sustainable food production from the sea, the industry needs fresh expertise and young people who can contribute to the development. Academic and social program
As a Seafood Trainee, you will receive a one-year trainee position in a company in the seafood industry. In the company, you will receive your own mentor for professional and personal development on the job. In addition, you will participate in a modular academic and social program throughout the year together with 30 Seafood Trainees from different companies.
The program consists of four 3-day modules, three in Norway and one abroad. The sessions will have themes that encompass the entire value chain in the seafood industry, with a particular focus on sustainability, innovation and development trends. This is an opportunity that gives you intensive training in the seafood industry in general and specifically at the relevant company, which has a strong professional and industry-oriented foundation.
Seafood Trainee is a program with opportunities for candidates from several educational backgrounds, and there are job opportunities in many different companies. The positions have locations along the coast from Rogaland to Finnmark, both in the cities and in the districts. Candidates who are positive about moving have an extra strong position in the competition for the exciting positions.
