PARTNER MEETING WITH CHRISTMAS LUNCH AND EXPORT WORKSHOP

The last partner meeting of the year was held yesterday at DNB in ​​Solheimsgaten. Almost 20 people from our partner companies showed up to get a status update, contribute to an export workshop and enjoy a delicious lunch in these pre-Christmas times.

The program began with Tanja Hoel giving a short status update on the activities that have been carried out by NCE Seafood in 2016. The focus was then turned to 2017 and the plans for next year. You can see the presentation here.

The next item on the program was the Export Workshop organized by Innovation Norway at Jan Glendrange, where the maritime industries will be a pilot in the project "Brand Norway".

"Brand Norway" is one of Innovation Norway's new, major initiatives. The goal of the initiative is increased growth and value creation. Countries that are brands have comparative advantages, and "Brand Norway" will contribute to Norway exporting more, while at the same time attracting more capital, expertise and tourists from abroad. The sea area will be a pilot in the further work with "Brand Norway", and this will provide companies with significant opportunities when "Brand Norway" is rolled out in 2017. Can, for example, Norway become a brand in Sustainability?

The pilot project will consist of three activities:

1. A workshop in each ocean cluster, with opportunities for partners to provide input on export-oriented measures and activities

2. A joint workshop for the ocean clusters where the theme is host attractiveness

3. Develop a maritime space tip on the position that "Brand Norway" will prepare for the country as a whole

"Brand Norway" is an important part of the strategic work we are doing both to develop an export-oriented supplier industry and in general when it comes to seafood exports. To build this brand, it will be important to find some concrete successful projects that will make us proud and give us self-confidence within the areas of opportunity we define.
