FORNY 2020 is an important instrument for the effective exploitation of ideas and results from public research, so that these can contribute to increased value creation in society. The program's primary task is to facilitate innovation and commercialization of results from publicly funded research institutions, and bring research results to the market.
The program provides support to start-ups and commercialization actors. The main purpose is to unleash the value creation potential in results from publicly funded research institutions.
Universities and university colleges are in an exciting development with regard to focusing on their 3rd social mission, which is that research results should benefit society. FORNY2020 will contribute to universities, university colleges, health trusts and institutes achieving good results.
Put research to use
FORNY2020 does not fund research, but supports activities that lead to the use of research results. This includes:
– to verify and document that the research results can be applied
– to make research results from publicly funded institutions ready for commercialization
– to create attractive investment objects from research results with commercial potential
The projects shall carry out targeted activities so that they become interesting as investment objects for national and international business, capital players or the public sector. The projects shall have great potential and a high expected commercial and social return. The program will work to ensure that projects that are particularly innovative and at the forefront of development are prioritized.
