It was Eldar Lien and the company Searas who won the competition for the Entrepreneur's Christmas Gift with their optiRAS module, which is a complete unit with an integrated biofilter and drum filter.
Lien tells Kyst.no that optiRAS is a completely new way of designing RAS. He believes that it takes time and requires a lot of resources to implement a completely new RAS solution. Read more about the concept here.
– Imagine that we won this time. It's incredibly nice and a feather in the cap of the entire team at Searas. We must also thank Leirvik for investing in Searas as a technology supplier, where we will now build the first pilot together with Bremnes, he says.
On the threshold of commercialization
Lien says it means a lot to the company to win with the publicity and attention this award entails.
OptiRAS includes 2 key products the company has developed; SeaRAS Aquaduct (a combined skimmer, degasser and water mover that also oxygenates and reduces gas saturation) and SeaRAS Aquasense (their system for real-time measurement and monitoring of water parameters, which can also measure and monitor H2S in the concentrations found in the facilities).
