This is an evening where we invite students and employees from the blue sector to an afternoon of meet and greet. We have motivational lectures, mingling and speed-dating – where students get 10 minutes each with different employees from the business world.
An evening of networking and industry insight
The evening kicked off with a cluster introduction, giving the students insight into the different areas of expertise and also what a cluster actually does. The introduction was followed by a presentation by Vidar Aarhus from Bergen County, who gave an inspiring presentation about "Bergen - The ocean city". We also had different employees from the industry share their journey towards their current position in the company they work in, as well as a company presentation.
Kristian Nordlie, earlier seafood trainee, from Wsense gave an inspiring presentation, sharing his journey and how he ended up in the seafood industry as an engineer.
Speed dating for future opportunities
The most exciting part of the program was speed-dating, which gave the students an opportunity to network with employees and experts from the blue sector. Many students showed interest in the seafood industry and our seafood trainee programme.
Storm In a Glass of Water is a networking event hosted by Maritime Bergen, NCE CleanTech, GCE Ocean Technology, Hub for Ocean and NCE Seafood.
