The first cohort will start in February, and the second in October. This expansion comes in response to the strong engagement we are seeing from both new and experienced talent looking to strengthen their expertise in the global seafood industry.
So far, around 250 people have completed Seafood Next, coming from over 80 different companies in the seafood industry, reflecting the program's popularity and value to both companies and individuals.
Clear response from participants and business
We asked Fride Iversen, program manager for Seafood Next, about what she experiences as the response from participants and the business community:
“Seafood Next is an initiative that provides clear value for both the participants, but also for the professional contributors to the program. With so many different companies represented in the groups, the different topics are challenged from different perspectives, which provides a great learning outcome that you can take back to your own organization. Seafood Next is knowledge sharing at its best and we are very happy that our initiative meets a need and will be scaled up in 2025!” – Fride Iversen, Senior Project Manager for Competence, NCE Seafood

A network for the future
Each cohort consists of 25-35 participants, which we have seen creates a good opportunity to build a broad network in the seafood industry. The participants come from different parts of the value chain, which provides a diversity of perspectives and experiences. Through the program's modules, which span over one year, participants learn both from the industry's leading players and from each other. We believe this is what makes Seafood Next a unique arena for exchanging experiences and forging new, important relationships. Many participants highlight how valuable it is to be able to learn together with others from the industry.
As a past participant put it: “Great program, and I look forward to the next modules and meeting the whole group again!”

Get to experience the seafood industry up close – Through four modules
Through the four modules in Seafood Next, participants will meet key people from the seafood industry, visit, among other things, fish farms, research institutes, production facilities and important players in the industry. The modules cover everything from research and management to sales, marketing, innovation , and full utilization of raw materials . Visits to various locations in Norway and a module in Iceland. For example, in the Bergen module we visit places such as Lerøy's hatchery, production facility and processing plant on Osterøy, which gives participants a practical understanding of the industry's challenges and opportunities.
