AquaCloud is looking for a forward-thinking and opportunity-oriented Data and Analytics Manager to manage the company's data platform. An important task is to ensure that the content in the database is of high quality, consistency and timeliness at all times, while developing and improving the content.
The new subject manager will, among other things, analyze the data base, recruit new participants to the platform, manage a data sharing portal and coordinate activities with various partners. You are responsible for following up on data owners (farmers), research environments, technical subcontractors, system suppliers and innovators, so that AquaCloud exploits its potential.
Our subject manager is curious and has a great interest in finding connections and opportunities in large amounts of data. You have a relevant higher education, experience with data analysis and some knowledge of programming. We primarily want you with experience from and/or knowledge of the aquaculture/farming industry. If you have experience with supplier follow-ups and some management, it is an advantage. Current candidates must be analytical, accurate and quality-conscious.
About AquaCloud
AquaCloud was established by NCE Seafood as a big data project in 2017, rooted in the aquaculture industry’s need to solve common challenges around lice in cages to create sustainable production and growth. The project involved collecting data from the aquaculture companies in the cluster’s salmon cages into a common cloud solution to use IBM’s Watson technology to create lice alerts and analyze the best strategies to get rid of them. The goal was to improve precision in forecasts and measures by sharing data across the aquaculture companies in the project.
The project has evolved from being a mere lice forecast and is today a hub for business activities in the industry. Collecting and sharing aquaculture data is still the core of AquaCloud's activities, in addition to standardization in various areas. AquaCloud has been funded throughout its development through partner contributions from the cluster participants, Innovation Norway and today through Siva's funding of the Ocean Innovation Catapult Centre.
