Yesterday, we at NCE Seafood had an experience that reminds us why collaboration is the future. Together with our 𝐟𝐨𝐤𝐮𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐤𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐞 consisting of HR managers and professionals from the companies Nutrimar , Lingalaks AS , AS Bolaks , Bremnes Seashore , Høgskulen på Vestlandet (HVL) , Mowi , Lerøy Seafood , Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) , Grieg Seafood , Sekkingstad AS , BioMar and the University of Bergen (UiB) – we were invited home to visit and tour Bremnes Seashore.
Being in the middle of production from holding pen to further processing is an experience you don't get through a PowerPoint or a report. It was Jihad Salih who guided us through the entire process, and we left with an understanding of the complexity, innovation and not least the passion that lies behind each fillet of salmon.
Chris-André Elvik from Bremnes also shared about their new strategy, where opening up to the public is central. That companies in a competitive industry open their doors to “competitors” – is something we in the cluster are rooting for! Building knowledge together, through sharing and collaboration, we believe is the right way forward for the seafood industry.
👉 Did you know that we at NCE Seafood Innovation bring together leaders and experts from across the industry 2–3 times a year for focus groups?
Here, everything from environmental protection to climate change is discussed. The focus groups provide space for the exchange of experiences, build networks, and help shape what we as a cluster put on the agenda.
Thank you so much to Bremnes Seashore for opening their doors and showing us that collaboration is not just their goal, but an action. 💙
