seafood traineelogo For the fifth year in a row, The NCE Seafood is starting its trainee program for the seafood industry. Seafood Trainee lasts one year and is a business-oriented program that is suitable for those of you who are looking for your first job after studies and have a strong desire to work in the seafood industry. You will be employed in a seafood company where you will have your daily work, while taking part in a very educational program. The program offers intensive training in both the seafood industry in general and at the company in question, with a strong professional and business-oriented foundation.
The professional program consists of 4 modules of 3 days, where one session will take place somewhere abroad. The modules will have topics that cover the entire value chain in the seafood industry, such as production, research and technology, marketing/sales and innovation. You will gain insight into all aspects of the industry, regardless of the position you are employed in. The companies that will hire trainees are looking for expertise in many areas.
The program includes everything from large international companies listed on the stock exchange, to smaller privately owned companies, with locations all over the country. Common to all is that they have ambitious goals that are achieved by being innovative, creative and by showing the ability to adapt to change. You will work with skilled and experienced managers and take part in a program that provides suitable challenges in line with your progression. The demands on you are high, but the opportunities for competence development and career will be significant.
Requirements for you as an applicant:
Completed bachelor's or master's degree that includes competence in:
Technology – IT – Digitalisation
Fish Health – Aquaculture – Biology – Logistics
Economics and Finance – HR and HSE – Law
Media and Communications – Sales and Marketing
Marine technology – Maritime subjects – Innovation and entrepreneurship
Maximum 2 years of work experience.
You are fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
The program is primarily for younger participants and we will therefore prioritize candidates with no or a maximum of 2 years of full-time work experience. The most important thing, however, is that you are motivated to work in the industry, are willing to learn and are proactive when it comes to your own development.

In the company you are employed in, a separate mentor will be appointed for you for personal and professional growth.
