With a rapidly growing global population, there is an increasing demand for food. Making up about 70% of the earth´s surface, the oceans represent great potential for food production. Seafood plays a significant role in feeding a growing population, and there is a need to increase sustainable seafood growth.
NCE Seafood Innovation is continuing our work in alternative forms for our partners and members, aiming to contribute to sustainable seafood growth by focusing on innovation. Fish health and welfare as well as reduction of carbon footprint, are major challenges for the future development of the seafood industry, with digitalization representing new solutions. NCE Seafood Innovation has therefore pointed out these three focus areas to encourage innovation for sustainable seafood growth.
Facilitating interaction across the industry is part of our work to increase innovation, and we are now inviting all our cluster members to participate in our new program “Innovation workshops” with three workshops focusing on our areas of priority. These workshops aim to highlight challenges and needs in the industry and reveal opportunities for new projects and collaborations for increased innovation. Join us and make an impact on further development in the seafood industry.
