In 2020 we started a project where the goal was to post the complete video training materials within recirculation aquaculture systems (RAS). We are happy to announce that the 50 planned videos about the subject are published at Seapoint.

Online course

The courses are covering the following fields: water quality, biofilter, technology, production, feeding in RAS, welfare challenges and wastewater treatment.

Access to the videos for our members and partners can be gained by logging into Seapoint or through Blue Planet Academy e-learning platform.


Project background

Environmental challenges, such as escapes and salmon lice in the aquaculture industry, have led to the desired growth not being achieved in the region. The aquaculture industry therefore invests significantly in the development of new and more environmentally friendly production technology such as recirculation aquaculture systems (RAS).

There is a great need for digital training and course material to be able to offer continuing and further education to employees who work with RAS at both breeders and suppliers in aquaculture. It has also been relevant at universities and other learning institutions.

The project has been financed with 1,2 MNOK from Bergen municipality, Vestland County, Møre og Romsdal County. Read more about the project here.
