NCE Seafood Innovation is establishing a new program for the seafood industry to provide knowledge and inspiration for new circular business models across value chains and more circular economic solutions in the seafood industry.
Participants from Seafood Trainee and Seafood Next went to Iceland for a couple of days last week. With a packed, but exciting schedule, the attendants got valuable insight about the Icelandic seafood industry directly from the people working in it. The focus on utilization of the whole fish was a highlight for many.
After getting an introduction to terminology and circular business models, the participants of the Circular Economy Program`s second module got a taste of how it works in real life. Workshops, company visits and insect-pancakes were a part of the two-day gathering.
Last week we hosted this year’s second Upcoming Seafood Startup where the topic of discussion was fish health and fish welfare. This topic is one of NCE Seafood Innovations industrial focus areas, and creating synergies and collaboration between startups, capital and industry is key when working towards the future.
This week we launched our new focus groups, consisting of key participants from industry and academia. We invited the participants to an open discussion and lunch at Bod24, and successfully set the tone for the year to come.
