NS 9417 is a Norwegian standard for “Salmon and Rainbow Trout – Terminology and Methods for Documentation of Production”. The standard was revised in 2022 and presents central definitions and terminology, in addition to new guidelines for environmental measurements in aquaculture.
The renewal of the standard lead to the idea of an online competence program.
In addition to Grieg Seafood and NCE Seafood Innovation, the Veterinary Institute, AquaCloud and SeaSmart have contributed with competence and professional content in the program.
The aim is to increase knowledge and motivation to make use of standardised environmental measurements, which improves data quality. The online program also shows the significance of using data and sharing data.
In addition, the goal is that the program will be available for the whole seafood industry in a couple of years.
