Fremtiden er i de beste hender
I høst dro vi på turné langs kysten av Norge for å gjøre sjømatnæringen bedre kjent for vgs-elever. Etter å ha reist fra Rogaland i sør til Troms og Finnmark i nord, har nesten 1700 elever fått bryne seg på noen av utfordringene næringen prøver å løse.

Crushing mussels to make chicken feed
Blue mussels or Mytulus edulis, in Latin, are well-known in the northern waters. Soon, they will be consumed by Norwegian chickens, at least if they get the results they are hoping for in the BlueMusselFeed project.

Land møter hav får fornyet tillit
Samarbeidsprosjektet Land møter hav har fått på plass finansiering for 2024. Det betyr at Elise Sæle Dahle fortsetter i stillingen som prosjektutvikler på tvers av de fire nasjonale klyngene NCE Seafood Innovation, NCE Heidner Biocluster, NCE Blue Legasea og Biotech North.

Gill disorders are one of the main health issues in marine salmon farms in many Northern hemisphere countries and regions. We have talked to Dr. Hamish Rodger, Chief Fish Health Officer at PatoGen, to gain insights into the complexities surrounding gill health and the ongoing efforts to address these issues.
How net cleaning can influence gill health
Did you know that net cleaning can affect gill health in a negative way? That’s one of the takeaways from our recent two-day workshop about gill health and harmful plankton. Health issues related to gills pose a significant challenge for fish welfare, and learning more about different causes is essential going forward.
